Float is looking for a Senior iOS Developer

Float designs and builds mobile products that make our clients’ workforces more effective.  Float is a consulting firm that combines strategy, UI/UX design and mobile development to help organizations by harnessing the power of mobile learning to help our clients be more successful.

  • Design and build advanced applications for the iOS platform

  • Lead and collaborate with a team to define, design, and ship new features

  • Ensure code quality and organization

  • Lead pull request meetings, code reviews, and general development meetings

  • Work across disciplines with team members from front-end, back-end, design, and product to ship features

  • Help maintain our shared internal frameworks

  • Provide analysis of problems and recommend solutions

  • Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability

  • Take an active part in making technical decisions and development process planning

  • Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.

  • Provide detailed estimates of work and ensure timely delivery of features.

  • Own the elements required to deliver features and results to the client



  • Education

  • B.S. or advanced degree in Computer Science


  • Extensive experience (3 - 5 years) developing native iOS applications

  • Mastery of Swift and Objective-C

  • Experience working in a team environment and helping support junior developers

  • Experience in performing code reviews

  • Experience in helping design solutions to customer requirements

  • Owned, or were a primary contributor to the development of at least one application in the App Store

  • Deep understanding of data structures, algorithms and design patterns

  • Ability to analyze and optimize code to improve overall app performance and stability

  • Experience building custom UI

  • Strong understanding of testing practices including unit & UI automation testing

  • Experience in the full mobile development life cycle

  • Understanding of Git and Git workflow

  • Experience with 3rd party libraries, frameworks, and services

  • Understanding of Apple’s design principles and interface guidelines

  • Experience working with bug trackers
